Policy Changes
Resulting from COVID-19

As the COVID-19 virus, along with the Delta variant, continues to spsread throughout our country, we are updating our policies in an effort to reduce the chances of transmission. Our staff will wear masks when interacting with our customers, and we would appreciate the same courtesy from our customers.

As a small business, if even one person on our staff were to become ill with COVID, we would probably have to close our business.

We work very hard to keep your pets happy and save. So please help our staff stay safe by wearing masks, and social distancing, where possible.

The following changes supercede our former policies.

Pet Food

We serve Victor Beef with Brown Rice dog food. You are welcome to bring your own food if you prefer that your dog not make a food change.

The 'Pre-bagged Food Discount' has been discontinued.

If you bring food, please please put it in a container (baggie, bin, etc.) sized appropriate for the length of the visit. A 50lb Food Bin for a 3 day stay is difficult to transport in and out and do store.

It is a good idea to bring a little extra in case your trip gets extended.

Check-Ins & Check-Outs

Check-Ins and Check-Outs are BY APPOINTMENT, so please let us know if you plan to arrive in the AM or PM period. Appointments are accepted for the following hours:

Monday – Friday    8:00 - 10:00 AM and 4:00 - 6:00 PM
Saturday    8:00 - 10:00 AM
Sunday    4:00 - 6:00 PM

If you do not have an appointment, the gate may be closed.

Remain in or beside your car. Please call when you arrive and wait for us outside in, or by you car. If you do not get an answer, toot your horn a couple of times, or call again. We will exchange your pet(s) and belongings in the parking lot. If you have a large amount of belongings, you may put them on the table just inside the gate. We will keep your pet’s leash, collar, harness or carrier in order to return your dog to you.

Please wear a mask when dropping your pet(s) off and when picking them up.

Check-In Sheets

Please download our Check-In Sheet, fill it out and sign. You may email this in advance, or bring it with you when you bring your pet. Be sure to clearly state:

   • The doses, frequency, and any special instructions for all medications

   • The quantity of Dog Park Play Times or Pasture Walks

   • Grooming: If grooming is requested, and you want to check-out your pet in the morning, we will need to schedule the grooming for the day before, or reschedule the check-out for the afternoon.

Tours

During the COViD pandemic, we are not offering tours inside the kennel, office or training buildings. The outside runs can be viewed from our parking lot, and there are pictures of the inside runs on this site.

If you'd like, you can call before you arrive and get the correct amount.

If paying via PayPal, just

   • login to PayPal.com

   • Click on Send Money

   • Enter, To: sales@southern-star-ranch.com.

   • Please check 'To friends and family' to save a fee being charged to us.
